MATT CORDS

Matt has built a strong career in business development with over 20 years experience in Team and League ticket sales, revenue generation, sales strategy, business development and client retention. In addition, Matt has worked closely in the areas of business intelligence and AI to help generate revenue.
Matt began his sports career as a ticketing account executive for the Minnesota during their inaugural 1999-2000 season. Later, Matt oversaw the ticketing area during multiple sell-out seasons and helped launch the Wild’s inside sales program.
Following his time with the Wild, Matt joined Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment as one of the Directors of the Stadium Builders License project. Over the course of three years, Matt and the Team generated over $120M in seat license sales as part of the funding for U.S. Bank Stadium.
Most recently, Matt was Senior Director, Ticket Sales at the UFL, where he had oversight of all eight UFL Ticket Sales Teams at the league level. Matt was responsible for collaborating with senior management on ticket sales goals, pricing, and league strategy. In addition, Matt worked closely with the sales teams on the ground in each market to ensure staff received proper training, set up KPI metrics, and implemented the local ticket sales plans that aligned with the league’s goals and objectives.

Matt Ferguson began his career in sports in 2010 with Sioux Falls Sports, serving as an account executive for both the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Sioux Falls Canaries. Over the next five years, he advanced through the organization, taking on roles as Director of Sales, Vice President of Sales, and eventually General Manager of the Canaries baseball team.
In 2015, Matt joined Tom Garrity at Quan Sports Marketing as Executive Vice President of Team Business Operations. In this role, he has worked with teams across the junior, minor league, and professional levels, overseeing team acquisitions and business operations. His areas of focus include ticket and sponsorship sales, staffing, and building high-performing sales cultures.
Since 2022, Matt has served as President of Pulltab Sports, working closely with teams and brands to drive awareness, engagement, and marketing impact through Pulltab’s growing media platform. His work spans original content, digital storytelling, and brand integrations across social media, podcasts, and on-the-ground activations.
A South Dakota native, Matt has lived and worked in Sioux Falls for the past 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Denise, their son Blake, and twin daughters Evelyn and Emeline—as well as time outside on the range putting holes in paper.
