RBC on the Front Lines of Soccer
For the past few years, RBC has invested in soccer. They’ve chosen to make this investment for many reasons: The U.S. is hosting the World Cup in 2026, soccer is a global game that looks like the consumer of tomorrow, and prestigious partners like Apple are involved. While the MLS partnership already looks like a smart bet, the marketing has been limited as RBC’s deal does not include player likeness.
To enhance visibility related to their soccer investment, RBC signed on to sponsor the very unique TST soccer tournament. This partnership was intriguing because it allowed us to do two things we’ve never been able to do with regards to content: player likeness and activist storytelling.
Soccer is a lifestyle, a community, and a culture. The TST tournament was new, exciting, and innovative. Not only did it make sense to put RBC into this world with their “ideas happen here” platform, but it helped us maximize what we’re already doing with MLS. Overall, this helped RBC make a huge impression in the soccer space.
